Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez mocked Vice President Dick Cheney for confusing Venezuela with Peru, saying the verbal blunder shows the United States is governed by a "bunch ignorant fools."
Cheney made the slip during a visit to Dallas last weekend.
When asked about Chavez's influense, he said: "My own personal view is that he does not represent the future of Latin America, and the people of Peru I think deserve better in their leadership."
