Tiger Woods Returning to Golf at the Masters

Tiger Woods will mark his return to golf and begin his pursuit for a fifth Green Jacket at Augusta National, home of golf’s first Major of the year, the Masters. The Masters gets underway on April 8.

Woods hasn’t played a competitive round of golf since winning the Australian Masters last November, just days before crashing his SUV outside his Florida home. That crash led to ultimately led to revelations about Woods’ personal life including numerous affairs he had carried on for years.

Woods has been off the course for four months, making few public appearances and opting to concentrate on repairing his relationship with his wife and seeking treatment for a sex addiction.

The world’s best golfer had said he was taking an undetermined amount of time off from the course but on his Web site on Tuesday Woods stated “The Masters is where I won my first major, and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta.”

Woods went on to say, “When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play.”
