Shares of Athena Health Inc. (NASDAQ:ATHN) climbed Tuesday, a day after the clinical software maker issued a delayed fourth-quarter earnings report.
The Massachusetts Company had been scheduled to report results last month but delayed so it could finish an audit and review the way it records deferred revenue from service implementation.
Athena Health reaffirmed its results from the year 2005 through the first three quarters of 2009 following the audit. The company decided to repay its service completion revenue over a period of 12 years, which reflects the amount of time it expects to do business with a new customer, rather than one year, which is the normal length for an initial contract.
