Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) Reports Continued Strength in LCD TV Sales

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) has reported that LCD TV sales have continued grow strong.  The company recently opened a Generation 10 LCD glass substrate facility in Sakai City, Japan.  The company opened up the facility on March 15 with a tour by the company’s president, Jim Clappin.  During the tour, Mr. Clappin told investors that the retail data for the year shows high demand for LCD TVs for the year.

Clappin noted that January’s sales in China have increased by 53%.  The numbers so far are in line with the company’s expectations for the year.  Japan’s LCD TV sales were also have reported to increase by 79% in January, and 65% in February.
