Marilyn Martinez, Latina Comedian, Dies at Age 52

Standup comedian Marilyn Martinez, whose well-received brand of comedy placed her on the same stage as such notable acts as Carlos Mencia and Paul Rodriguez, passed away November 3 at the age of 52.

Martinez had been diagnosed with colon cancer nine months ago.

Among Martinez’s credits were appearances on comedy specials such as The Latin Divas of Comedy, 1^st Amendment Stand Up and Hot Tamales Live: Spicy, Hot and Hilarious. Martinez also had roles in big screen productions “Pauley Shore Is Dead” and “My Wife and Kids.”
