Russian Oil Tanker Disaster in Black Sea

At least ten ships sank or ran aground after a fierce storm swept through the northern Black Sea region over the weekend.

Among the vessels battered was an oil tanker that spilled more than half its 1.3 million gallons of fuel into the Strait of Kerch, a tight strait that links the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov.

All 13 crew member of the Volganeft-139 were rescued from the tanker but three bodies have been recovered from other ships and there are still at least five sailors missing.

The oil spill is being called one of the worst disasters to hit the region in years.
