Entire Cosco Busan Crew Being Held for Questioning in San Fran Oil Spill

The entire crew of the cargo ship that dumped nearly 58,000 gallons of fuel into the San Francisco Bay after sideswiping a bridge is being held for questioning while a criminal investigation is being launched.

A preliminary investigation into what caused the Cosco Busan to slam into a support on the San FranciscoOakland Bay Bridge has led the Coast Guard to believe that the cause of the accident was human error and not mechanical failure.

Coast Guard commander for the bay region Capt. William Uberti has said that after each crew member has been questioned by a federal investigator they would be free to go.

The oil spill killed several dozen birds and closed more than 20 beaches and piers.
