‘Baby Grace’ investigation leads to three missing girl cases

When Galveston Authorities asked the public for help to identify ‘Baby Grace,’ whose body was found stuffed in a plastic storage container, more than two hundred leads poured in. The little girl was nicknamed Baby Grace by authorities. Galveston police say they are now focusing on cases of missing girls across the country.

Among those cases is Deonna Shipman, who went missing from her home in Liverpool, New York. The three year old was last seen with her father, Jeffery Shipman, on July 12. On August 27, 2-year-old Karen Matusiewicz was reported missing along with her two sisters. Matusiewicz and her sisters are believed to have been abducted by their father. Also a case of interest is Celestia Langille who disappeared with her brother, Everett. The 2-year-old and her brother are believed to have also been abducted by their father.

When sketches of Baby Grace were released, tips poured in that she might be the missing British girl Madeleine McCann. Galveston police say they have ruled this possibility out.

Baby Grace was found in a plastic container in the Galveston Bay area by a fisherman. Police say she is 2 to 3 years old, has blonde hair reaching to the middle of her back, and was wearing a matching pink skirt and shirt. Baby Grace’s skull was fractured, but she had no other injuries.
