Jay-Z Pays Tribute to Dr. Donda West

Jay-Z recently showed his respect to rapper Kanye West’s mother at his concert on Sunday, November 11, 2007.

During his show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York the rapper asked for a moment of silence to pay respect to the late Dr. Donda West.

According to People Jay-Z said: "Let's get serious for a minute. This show is dedicated to Kanye West who had a death in the family. We got you, Kanye, stay strong."

Donda West, died suddenly on Saturday after complications from cosmetic surgery. Donda’s rep Patricia Green would only say, “She dies as a result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure.”

Kanye was in London when he heard of his 58-year-old mom’s death in Los Angeles.
