Chinese Government Admits Aqua Dots Contained GHB

The Aqua Dots recall continues to pick up news as the Chinese government admitted that the toys manufactured in China contained the potentially deadly industrial chemical 1,4-butanediol, commonly sold as the illegal  “date rape” drug GHB.

In a statement released by the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine, it was recognized that the potentially deadly chemical was substituted for the specified 1,5-pentanediol compound.

Aqua Dots were pulled from eth shelves of U.S. stores as well as in over 40 other countries after it was discovered that children were swallowing the beads and becoming violently ill.
