According to police investigating the massacre at Finland’s Jokela High School in which a total of nine people died, there may have been a connection between the shooter, Pekka-Eric Auvinen, and a Pennsylvania teen who had been arrested in October for allegedly preparing an attack on his high school.
Police confiscated Auvinen’s computer and found material that suggested the 18-year-old had communicated with 14-year-old Dillon Cossey of Philadelphia, Pa.
Cossey was believed to be in the planning stages of an attack on Plymouth Whitemarsh High School when a fellow student notified police. Cossey’s house was raided and police found several weapons and literature that suggested a possible attack was in the works.
In the school shooting in Finland, Auvinen killed six students, a nurse and the principal before shooting himself in the head.
