As Kanye West mourns the death of his mother, Dr. Donda West, it is unsure if this recent turn of events will affect West's wedding to fiancee' Alexis Phifer.
West and Phifer were to be married before New Year's Eve this year. West proposed to Phifer during a vacation together in 2006.
West, who flew from London to Los Angeles to be with family during this mourning period, is expected to still get married, but the date is still up in the air.
Fans and fellow musicians alike have poured out their condolences to West, whose extremely close relationship with his mother was well-known and documented. Jay-Z, fellow rapper and CEO of West's label Roc-A-Fella Records, sent his condolences during his "American Gangster" concert in New York's Hammerstein Ballroom Sunday.
Recently, Dr. West said that she was quite fond of Phifer and respected her love for her son, Kanye.
Dr. West passed Sunday due to complications with plastic surgery. The autopsy is not yet complete.
