Rocket Fired from Gaza Strip Kills Man in Southern Israel

A farm worker living in southern Israel has been killed by a rocket fired from inside the Gaza Strip, the first such fatality since Israel launched a campaign in Gaza last year.

According to reports the man, said to be from Thailand, was killed by shrapnel from the rocket attack that hit a kibbutz. Israeli officials said it was the third rocket launch in less than 12 hours and could signal a return to violent aggression between Israelis and Palestinians.

A small Palestinian militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
