Individualized addiction treatment the focus at drug rehab center
Connecticut facility focuses on individualized drug addiction treatment
CONNECTICUT | NEW YORK- A world away from the hustle and bustle of New York City, yet just a short drive away at the foothills of the Berkshires, lies a facility that has changed the face of drug addiction treatment centers worldwide.
Just 12 short years ago, the founders of Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center followed their own instincts coupled with their specialized training to debut a seemingly simple pattern for drug rehabs across the world to follow. And follow they did- so much so that Mountainside’s innovative approach set the standard for drug addiction treatment worldwide and earned them a spot at the White House, with then-drug-czar John Walters, to discuss that approach in detail.
“Before Mountainside’s program was established, almost all drug rehabs were providing a very standardized model of treatment,” began a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “It was the same program irrespective of the individual’s particular addiction and interests. The one-size-fits-all approach had abysmal rates of success. How can you have the exact same treatment plan for different individuals and expect them all to be successful? The answer is: you can’t. That’s why we pioneered a new approach-- individualized care. When an addicted individual arrives, various factors are assessed and our entire team is then involved in coming up with a treatment plan that makes the most sense for that individual.”
After witnessing the success of Mountainside, other facilities began following suit. Those facilities that have adopted the Mountainside model for drug addiction treatment show similar recovery success rates.
For nearly two decades, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center has led the way in offering individualized alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs. As Mountainside’s licensed and certified counselors, social workers and treatment team serve, they strive to provide quality, compassionate care to each individual in a tranquil, peaceful environment conducive to optimal recovery.
In addition to licensed counselors, Mountainside provides medical services through an on-staff Nurse Practitioner and Registered nurse with specialization in drug addiction and alcohol treatment. Psychiatric services are also extended to clients in need.
