Backed by 37 points from Jimmer Fredette and another 26 points from Michael Loyd Jr. the #7 BYU Cougars managed to knock off the #10 FSU Seminoles in double overtime 99-92 to advance into the second round of the West Region.
BYU shot 43 percent from beyond the three-point line and were 25-32 from the foul-line while limiting their turnovers to just 12 in the game. In comparison the Seminoles turned the ball over 21 times and were 31 percent from beyond the arch.
As a team the Seminoles struggled from the field but Kenny Boynton was certainly a bright spot, scoring 27 points and hit 5-10 from distance.
The Cougars will now face the winner of the Kansas State-North Texas matchup.
