The body of Alabama teen Ben Stanford was found Tuesday afternoon behind a Home Depot in Villa Rica, Georgia. The 17-year-old grandson of Alabama State Senator Jim Preuitt disappeared from Anniston, Alabama on November 5 and his 2007 Jeep Cherokee was found the same day parked near the I-20 Villa Rica exit.
The passenger door was open and the keys were missing from the vehicle. After a search of the surrounding area, Stanford’s body was found behind a Home Depot yesterday afternoon. Details on how Stanford died are now yet available.
Stanford was a senior at Donoho School in Anniston. The school announced his death Tuesday afternoon with a statement posted on their website saying, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our student, classmate and friend Ben Stanford…We ask that you continue to pray for the Stanford family during this most difficult time.”
