St. Petersburg, FL (March 19, 2010)—Tom duPont, publisher of duPont REGISTRYTM, unveiled a new vehicle designed and built by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance on March 12, 2010. The Lingenfelter T/A is a modified 2010 Camaro, with exhaustive engine and performance refinements as well as custom-molded body styling, reminiscent of the muscle-heavy 1970 Pontiac Trans Am.
“Creating vehicles with astounding performance capabilities and ‘stop-in-your-tracks’ curb appeal is nothing new for Lingenfelter Performance Engineering,” says Tom duPont. “Lingenfelter Performance Engineering designed and built this vehicle with one goal in mind—to celebrate, in a most pronounced manner, America's muscle-car heritage.”
The Lingenfelter T/A produces 655 hp and 610 ft.-lbs. of torque. The custom-designed CORSA Performance stainless steel exhaust gives the car even more torque. It also features a custom Racing Head Service (RHS) aluminum engine block with an impressive 455 cubic inch displacement. The wheels are custom designed 20-inch Honeycombs with bright brushed aluminum details with Nitto Tires in size 275/40ZR20 fronts and 315/35ZR20 rears.
Inspired from the vehicle’s heritage, the body enhancements include a dramatic new hood with shaker scoop; a functional side extractor scoop on the fender; a leading edge wheel flair on the rear quarter; and custom head lamps, grille and turn signals. In addition, the rear corners of the car have been extended nearly 4 inches with a wrapped down stand-up spoiler and custom-created taillight housings.
Finished in an icy, bright white with an electric blue stripe running from front to rear, this car looks like classic American muscle. An interior finish, with bright blue woven vinyl seat inserts, completes the 70’s experience. Lingenfelter badges indicate the vehicle's authenticity as a certified Lingenfelter creation.
“For more than 30 years, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has created a matchless heritage of bringing astounding new capabilities to the world's most sought-after sports cars, and they've done it once again with their newest concept car—the Lingenfelter T/A,” duPont says.
