Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced Thursday it has promoted corporate vice president Robert Youngjohns, according to Associated Press.
Youngjohns, who joined the company in December 2007, will now take over as senior vice president and president, North America sales and marketing.

Before joining Microsoft, Youngjohns held leadership positions at Callidus Software Inc. (NASDAQ: CALD), Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA) and IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM).
Microsoft shares fell 6 cents to $29.56 in afternoon trading.
