Demi Moore Helps Prevent Suicide

Actress Helps Save Life Through Twitter

Famous actresses Demi Moore and Nia Vardalos recently helped prevent the suicide attempt of an 18 year old male in Orlando, Florida. And they did so via Twitter. After the young man posted a message on Twitter stating his intention to hang himself outside of his home, both Moore and Vardalos reacted quickly to what appeared to be a real cry for help. Moore tweeted "R U rlly asking 4 help?" Vardalos went further by calling a suicide hotline, after which she posted on her account that, "I called suicide line, connected to FL police, I gave his name+city. They went to home, helped him." Local police found the young man crying in his home and took him to protective custody. Interestingly, this is not the first time Moore's twitter account has played a key role in the prevention of a suicide. Last April, a California woman tweeted a suicide threat to Moore before she was taken by police to a hospital for evaluation.
