It is well known that foods affect mood, behavior, skin, sleeping patterns and weight. However, clinical trials have also shown that certain foods can accelerate addiction recovery. Nutritional strategies that improve treatment outcomes will be one of many topics discussed at the Holistic Treatment Conference hosted by Foundations Recovery Network this April. Attendees will be able to participate in up to four workshops that center around nutrition, including:
- “The Stressed-Out Co: Using Nutrients, Adrenal Support, EMDR and Hypnosis to Effect Positive Change in Family Members” with Christina Veselak (Inspirations)
- “Eat Whole Real Food to Accelerate Addiction Recovery and Mood Stabilization” with Trudy Scott (US Wellness Meats)
- “Using Micronutrients to Successfully Treat Mood Disorders and Addictions” with Katherine Falk (Truehope Nutritional Support Ltd.)
-“Implementing a Holistic Nutrition Program as a Therapeutic Modality” with Susan S. Dieffenbach (Freedom Consultancy)
There will also be a keynote, presented by Stephen J. Schoenthaler, entitled “Evidence-Based Research on the Effects of Food and Nutrients on Correcting Brain Function, Mood, Cognition and Dysfunctional Behaviors.”
