On Friday, a federal appeals court ruled that Anna Nicole Smith's estate will not be receiving the over $300 million that Smith claimed she was promised by her deceased billionaire husband J. Howard Marshall. Marshall was an oil tycoon who made media headlines in 1994 when he married a much younger (63 years younger, to be specific) Smith, who was the 1993's Playboy Playmate of the Year. Marshall died in 1995. Since then, a legal battle has raged regarding who gets Marshall's money. Smith's son died in 2006 and Anna Nicole died from an apparent overdose the following year, but the battle in the courtroom has continued since then. The Marshall attorneys hope that the Friday's judgment will be the end of the battle, but the attorney representing Smith's estate said that ""We are certainly going to be looking at an appeal to the [full] 9th Circuit or the Supreme Court."
