Second Earthquake Shakes Northern Chile

Having already experienced a magnitude 7.7 earthquake on Wednesday, northern Chile was rocked by a second temblor on Thursday, this time a magnitude 6.8.

 

The quake struck as crews and residents were cleaning up after the initial quake that left two dead and more than 150 injured. There have been no reports of deaths or injuries in Thursday’s quake.

 

Wednesday’s earthquake in northern Chile was felt nearly 800 miles away in the capital city of Santiago as well as in neighboring Bolivia and Peru.
