Taser Death Inside Vancouver International Airport Being Investigated

The death of Robert Dziekanski is being investigated by Canadian authorities as they attempt to determine whether police used the correct action when they tasered the 40-year-old man at the Vancouver International Airport.

Dziekanski arrived at the airport after traveling from Poland but found himself delayed in the airport’s arrivals area for nearly ten hours. According to reports Dziekanski became agitated with the long wait which led to Mounties confronting and then tasering him.

A bystander, Paul Pritchard, caught the Oct. 14 incident on video but police quickly snapped the recording up. Pritchard recently received the tape back after threatening legal action if it was not returned.

The video shows the moments that led up to the tasering and the seemingly excessive force used by police.
