Velvet Revolver Forced To Cancel Japan Concerts

Rock band Velvet Revolver recently canceled their shows in Japan because Japanese immigration authorities have denied Velvet Revolver's request for visas. This has forced the band to cancel shows that were scheduled in four Japanese cities in late November.

The band was scheduled to perform from November 26-30, but due to visa issues, Velvet Revolver will not be able perform in Japan.

A Velvet Revolver representative recently stated that the process with the laws in Japan are "increasingly tough".

Japanese immigration officials also took exception to the backgrounds of various Velvet Revolver members, which have included arrests, during the visa process.

On November 20,2007  Japan is scheduled to become the second country in the world after the United States to introduce biometric screening -- including fingerprinting -- of all foreign nationals entering the country.

Velvet Revolver will continue their Australian tour, which is set to begin on December 4,2007  in Brisbane.
