Vanessa Robinson Charged with Suffocating Her Newborn Baby

Vanessa Robinson is being charged in connection to the death of her newborn baby after police discovered the body of the boy hidden in a cardboard box in her basement.

Robinson, a 22-year-old Patoka, Indiana resident, had gone to an area hospital shortly after giving birth and complained about stomach pains. Hospital workers notified officials after becoming alarmed when Robinson didn’t mention the recent birth.

Police investigated the incident that occurred in March and discovered the baby’s body wrapped in a towel inside a cardboard box. Robinson is facing charges of suffocating her son and is now being held on $100,000 bond in Gibson County Jail.
