The race for the Frozen Four got started on Sunday mornings at the 2010 NCAA College Hockey Tournament pairings were announced with number one seeds being handed out to Miami (Ohio), Boston College, Wisconsin and Denver.
For Miami (Ohio) there may be some relief in knowing they won’t have to face Boston University this year, the team that stunned the RedHawks in the finals last year after coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the final minute to win in overtime and capture the NCAA title.
Miami certainly caught a break with Alabama-Huntsville, winners of the College Hockey America Conference. Alabama-Huntsville is the only school in the tournament with a losing record.
Earning their first trip to the NCAA College Hockey Tournament were Alaska and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) but they will be facing traditional powerhouses in Boston College and Denver respectively.
