Daughtry, Carrie Underwood Win Big at 2007 American Music Awards

Daughtry and Carrie Underwood were the biggest winners in the 2007 American Music Awards (AMAs) Sunday night.

Daughtry nabbed three awards, winning breakthrough artist, favorite contemporary artist and favorite pop/rock album, while Underwood took home hardware for favorite country female artist, favorite country album and T-Mobile's text-in award.

The undisputed highlight of the ceremony was Chris Brown's startling performance of "Kiss Kiss," which saw the young R&B sensation topping off an innovative black-lit dance routine by hanging from the ceiling. Other memorable performances included Fergie's opening number and Duran Duran singing the fan-voted "Hungry Like the Wolf

Justin Timberlake was close behind, winning the awards for pop/rock male artist and soul/R&B album. The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, featured performances by Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Fergie, Will.i.am, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5 and more.
