NBA Schedule Monday March 22: Phoenix Eyeing Fourth Spot in Western Conference as Utah Jazz Looks to Hold Off Charging Suns

While the teams that will be playing in the NBA playoffs appears to be set there is still plenty of confusion regarding who those teams will be playing in the opening round. The Western Conference is a bit of a mess outside of the Los Angeles Lakers as the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks battle for the number two spot while the number four seed, currently held by the Utah Jazz, is still a fight among five teams.

Utah has a game advantage over the Phoenix Suns and they can keep their cushion with a win over the Boston Celtics on Monday. The Jazz will be at home where they have put together a 28-8 record but the Celtics are among the best road teams in the NBA with a 24-12 record away from Boston.

The Phoenix Suns are just a game behind the Jazz and would love to hold that number four seed in the playoffs. On Monday they’ll be looking for their fifth straight win as they head out to face the Golden State Warriors. As bad as Golden State is they are certainly capable of putting up big numbers and with the Suns coming off a Sunday game they’ll need to be ready come game time.

In the Eastern Conference the Chicago Bulls are just 2 ½ games out of the playoffs but a number of injuries has left many doubting their chances. They can keep their hopes alive when they host the Houston Rockets on Monday night. The Toronto Raptors currently hold that number eight seed and could maintain their lead over the Bulls or pull even with the Charlotte Bobcats with a  win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
