President Obama announced plans to sign his revolutionary health-care legislation into law Tuesday. The signing with will take place at the White House ahead of a Senate revisions package that was also accepted by the House on Sunday.
Settling over a years worth of political gridlock on Sunday, government officials revealed their plans to employ a White House signing ceremony to demonstrate the advantages of health-care overhaul. The House had been broken on the issue before it was eventually passed on Sunday alongside the reconciliation bill on Sunday. The legislation gave the Democrats the victory they have been working toward since Obama first took office, passing by a 219-212 vote. Prior to recent revisions even many Democrats had turned their back on the health care reform bill, that changes; however when the plan began integrating more moderate stances and even some bipartisan views. The reconciliation bill passed with a 220-211 vote. It had no Republican endorsements.
The Senate will begin putting the House-passed revisions into effect when Obama signs the new legislation. The debate over revisions will last no longer than 20 hours and is expected to come to a close on Thursday. Only one minute will be permitted in between votes.
