High School Massacre Averted in Germany after Plot Revealed by Students

A pair of German high school students in Cologne were allegedly plotting an assault on their school when police stepped in to question the teenagers and uncovered their plans.

The two teenagers were seen by classmates studying the Columbine massacre that took place in Littleton, Colorado in 1999. After alerting the principal, the police were notified.

On Friday one of the teens involved in the plot committed suicide shortly after being interviewed by the police. The second plotter was arrested and confessed to the plan.

Police searched the homes of the boys and found weapons as well as a list of names that included teachers and students. It is believed that the two teenagers had planned on carrying out the attack on Tuesday, marking the one year anniversary of Germany’s last school shooting that took place in Emsdetten.
