Earl Paulk sex scandal hits Atlanta church

Archbishop Earl Paulk is involved in yet another sex scandal, this time with his brother’s wife. The 80-year-old leader of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church has been involved in several other sex scandals including one involving a former church employee, Mona Brewer.

After a court ordered paternity test, it has been revealed that 34-year-old D.E. Paulk, who was known as Earl’s nephew, is actually his son. This latest scandal could land the archbishop in trouble as he lied under oath about the affair.

Brewer said Earl Paulk manipulated her into having sex with him by telling her that was the only way to salvation. Brewer said the affair went on from 1989 to 2003. Paulk admitted the affair in front of the church and swore under oath that Brewer was the only other person he had sex with outside his wife.

The paternity test has revealed Paulk’s lie. He faces charges of perjury and false-swearing. He is still under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and no charges have been filed yet.

This is the latest in a string of accusations and affairs involving the older Paulks. Earl’s brother, Don Paulk, is also accused of pressuring a female church member into having sex.

“I’m so very sorry for the collateral damage it’s caused our family and the families hurt by the removing of the veil that hid our humanity and our sinfulness,” said D.E. Paulk. “It was a necessary evil to bring us back to a God-consciousness.”

He adds that he only learned the secret with the paternity test. “I was disappointed, and I was surprised,” he said.

“My uncle is 100 percent guilty,” says D.E., “but his accusers are guilty as well.”
