Warren Jeffs, 51, was sentenced to at least 10 years of prison on Tuesday after a
Jeffs, leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints (FLDS), had been found guilty of coercing a 14-year-old girl to marry her 19-year-old cousin and submit to his sexual advances or risk losing “eternal salvation.”
Tuesday’s ruling guarantees that Jeffs will serve at least 10 years but his sentence could be longer when the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole determine the exact length.
