Dermatologists Use Vivacare to Inform Patients of Clinical Trial Opportunities

Dermatologists can now use the patient education service from Vivacare to inform their patients of clinical trials  that are actively recruiting patients with acne, psoriasis, rosacea, skin cancer, or other dermatologic conditions.

Vivacare’s Web-based service includes a section devoted to dermatology research with updates from clinicaltrials.gov that a
dermatologist can provide to patients who may be candidates.

Dermatologists can enroll for Vivacare at no cost and create their own practice-branded Patient Education Library that is pre-loaded with hundreds of customizable patient handouts. The content includes a variety of educational resources, including videos and self-care tools, such as a rosacea diary.

The
patient education service includes a Patient eNewsletter function that allows dermatologists to deliver skin care news and practice updates. The eNewsletter may also notify patients of clinical trials seeking participants. For instance, the March issue of the dermatology eNewsletter announced a clinical trial that is recruiting people with chronic hand eczema (CHE).

“Vivacare’s goal is to support dermatology research and advance the development of new treatments for skin disorders”, says Dr. Mark Becker, pediatrician and President of Vivacare. “By helping dermatologists better communicate clinical trial opportunities to their patients, Vivacare may help these trials recruit candidates and initiate their research more cost-effectively”.
