Michigan Business Owners Skip Yellow Page Advertising For SEO Instead

Michigan Companies Turn to Search Engine Experts in Rough Economy

This economy is a tricky one to figure out. There are more things in the media field than there used to be. This has a lot of business excited and yet confused. When it comes to promoting a business on the web a lot of business owners do not know where to begin. One thing is for sure. Print marketing is slow and expensive and at best – ineffective.

A lot of Michigan based businesses did not view Yellow Pages as a great option according to a recent survey done by Hot Metro Finds. The other thing Michigan business owners stated flat out was they were not favorable towards pay per click advertising either. Many Michigan based telecom groups are offering pay per click as the “only choice” when it comes to online advertising. In addition to bad pay per click advertising was the ill fated Yellow Pages advertising and newspaper printed ads.

“One salon owner took her Yellow Pages contract and shoved it inside a shredder in front of us.
Michigan businesses need to advertise but are sick of ineffective methods. Our generation is changing. We are living in a very impatient culture. We have more television stations than ever before, more satellite radio station choices and unlimited web sites. How do you compete against all of that noise? We find that Michigan businesses want to be on the Internet  - page 1 without paying for it. That takes more than one web site in most cases but it can be done.” Says Michigan based Internet gurus, Ted Cantu.

It is possible to beat the advertising game by getting a primer on how the search engine results really work. More importantly you must remember that getting your company onto the first page can happen. A business owner needs to put some thought into niches and how they serve their customer. By breaking down the type of service they offer and who they want to offer service to is a major step in the right direction.

“I wouldn’t recommend doing a pay per click campaign for one simple reason. In the recent weeks many online marketers have had their pay per clicks accounts turned off by Yahoo and Google with no explanation. One can only speculate market saturation in this area. The real reason should be that it is too expensive to do in the first place. My suggestion is to get a good search engine marketer and zero in on what your ideal customer.” Says the popular author, and speaker Ted Cantu.
