Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX) has announced that its Delaware subsidiary, Tidewater Utilities, Inc., has entered a temp agreement to supply drinking and other water supplies with Dover Air Force Base (DAFB). The reason for the agreement is that DAFB is working on an upgrade of its water supply system.

The 6-month contract allows for the transmission of water from one of Tidewater’s largest water districts, which is contiguous to DAFB through an interconnected water line with an emergency backup. Tidewater plans to supply 50 million gallons of water throughout the construction period.
Tidewater, established in 1964, provides service to retail water and wastewater customers, and is the largest private water supplier south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.
