Joran van der Sloot Ordered Extradited to Aruba

A district court judge in the Netherlands went forward with a request from a judge in Aruba and ordered Joran van der Sloot extradited to the Dutch territory to face questioning surrounding the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway.

The extradition order follows van der Sloot’s arrest on Wednesday in which officials in Aruba said they had “new material in the investigation.” Van der Sloot, along with two companions, was arrested in 2005 when Holloway disappeared.

Holloway had been on an unofficial graduation trip with several classmates. Van der Sloot is believed the last to have seen Holloway before her disappearance. Shortly after Holloway’s disappearance made international headlines authorities arrested Van der Sloot along with Deepak and Satish Kalpoe.

The three men were eventually released and allowed to leave the island. On Wednesday all three men were re-arrested.
