Phases in Holistic Rehab

In holistic rehab, a patient will progress through an addiction treatment program in phases. As each phase is successfully completed, the patient will move on to the next phase. Before any phase is begun, a patient will undergo detoxification, if this is necessary, at the same addiction treatment center as he will progress through the stages. Once the detoxification stage has been completed, the phases will begin.

The first phase that the patient will go through is a psychological evaluation and assessment. Although this may seem daunting, the patient can be assured that at all times his dignity will be protected.  Strengths and weaknesses will be assessed, and the patient will be assigned to a specific group. From there, individual and group counseling, as well as other activities, all designed to work together towards moving the patient to the second phase, will be implemented.

The second phase in holistic rehab will consist of the patient moving from in-patient status to out-patient status. The patient will be helped as he makes the move back to his working and private life. For approximately 45 days, during the day the patient will work and interact with those on the “outside”, then return to the addiction treatment center at night. Additionally, he will remain at the center, participating in the addiction treatment program on the weekends also.

The third phase of holistic rehab consists of the patient returning to the addiction treatment center once a week for one year. During these visits, the patient is monitored to see how well the addiction treatment program has worked, and additional assessments and support is given, as needed.
