Qwest (NYSE: Q) Offer to Buy Debt Expires

Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) reported Thursday that an offer by a subsidiary to buy two series of outstanding debt expired Wednesday, according to Associated Press.

 

$959.7 million of notes were accepted for cash purchase, according to the company.

Qwest Capital Funding Inc. received $338.2 million, or 84 percent of the outstanding principal amount, of 7.9 percent notes and $621.5 million, or 78 percent of the outstanding principal amount, of 7.25 percent notes as part of the offer.

 

BofA Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley were the Dealer Managers for the tender offer.

 

Shares of the telecommunications company fell 1 cent to $5.28 in afternoon trading.
