Aqua Dots Appears in Toys “R” Us and Target Ads

Despite being recalled nearly three weeks ago due to a chemical coating that could turn into the dangerous “date-rape” drug, Aqua Dots appeared in the advertising fliers for at least two major retailers on Sunday due to the circulars being printed prior to the warning.

Both Toys “R” Us and Target highlighted the popular toy in their advertisements yet neither retailer will be selling Aqua Dots.

Aqua Dots, manufactured in China, contained the potentially deadly industrial chemical 1,4-butanediol, commonly sold as the illegal  “date-rape” drug GHB. The toys were pulled from shelves after several reports of children swallowing the beads and becoming violently ill.
