Ground beef recall totals 96,000 lbs

American Foods Group has voluntarily issued a recall for nearly 96,000 pounds of group beef after two consumers fell ill. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said the meat maybe contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

The recalled beef includes coarse and fine ground chuck, sirloin and chop beef. The products were produced on October 10 and distributed to retailers in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Virginia.

Consumers are urged to return or throw out any beef products they have that are apart of the recall. Each shipping label reads “Est. 18076” inside the USDA mark.
