DestinationVillas.com reports Colorado ski resorts have opened up to 11% of the trails ahead of pre-determined grand opening dates. Most mountains in the west rely on natural snowfall to create adequate snow bases. The 2007-2008 season is providing enough snow and cold weather for the Colorado ski resorts to open lifts and ski slopes as much as two weeks ahead of schedule. As of the date of this article 12 ski resorts are open for business in Colorado. While many hotels are not yet scheduled to open, Colorado vacation rental homes provide a solution for skiers looking to hit the slopes early. Colorado ski condos and ski chalets are available for rent by owner with last-minute deals readily available. Check
