Rapper Fabolous Associated with Night Club Stabbing in New York

Shamel McKinney, a childhood friend and associate of rap star Fabolous was stabbed to death inside a New York nightclub called Duvet early Friday morning.

According to police, an unrelated fight broke out between two women yesterday morning inside Duvet, a popular nightclub located on W. 21st Street, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.

Although it is unclear on how a weapon was smuggled into the New York night club, police found a 7-inch folding knife covered in blood in a dumpster near the club.

Shamel and rapper Fabolous were reported as childhood friends, Police sources said Fabolous was at the W. 21st St. club in the hours before Shamel was killed.

Members of Fabolous's family said that the rapper celebrated Thanksgiving in New Jersey, but police are planning to interview the rapper regarding the incident.
