The NBA schedule Saturday night includes five games on the slate with a few of them carrying a bit of significance as the playoffs draw nearer.
While the Chicago Bulls haven’t exactly been on fire they’ve seen their playoff hopes remain alive due to the collapse of the Toronto Raptors. Sitting just two games out of the eighth spot the Bulls could climb even closer with a win on Saturday but they’ll have to do that against a New Jersey Nets team that has won two games in a row. The Nets need just one more win to avoid tying the worst record in NBA history but a 4-32 record on the road doesn’t bode well for them on Saturday.
Coming off perhaps their worst loss of the year the Los Angeles Lakers would love to bounce back against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Kobe Bryant looked awful against the Oklahoma City Thunder and that doesn’t help the Rockets cause. Kobe will almost certainly be looking to redeem himself after nine turnovers and get the Lakers back in playoff shape.
The Western Conference playoff picture is as tight as it can be and both the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz are fighting for the number two spot with the Denver Nuggets while also trying to hold off the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City. Utah can keep pace on Saturday with a win over the Washington Wizards while Dallas has the Golden State Warriors on their schedule.
