NCAA Tournament College Basketball Elite Eight Schedule Saturday: Kentucky and West Virginia Square Off while Butler and Kansas State Battle

In an NCAA Tournament that has featured a number of huge upsets the schedule for Saturday nights Elite Eight matchups feature four schools that most people felt had a shot at reaching this level. While Butler certainly shocked the #1 Syracuse Orange the Bulldogs did rack up 28 wins before the tournament started are haven’t lost a game since Dec. 22, 2009.

The Bulldogs will find themselves in a true battle with the Kansas State Wildcats who have been just as impressive. While they survived a double overtime contest with Xavier there’s still plenty left in the tank for the Kansas State players who see a shot at the Final Four in the near future. The Wildcats offense is capable of putting up big numbers and their guards are among the quickest in the nation, if they can control the pace the Bulldogs could find themselves in trouble. That being said, Butler would love nothing more than one more upset to head home to Indianapolis and play before a home crowd in the Final Four.

When the East Region bracket was revealed just about everybody had the Kentucky Wildcats facing the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Elite Eight. With a ticket to the Final Four now on the line it comes down to who wants it more. Kentucky has had an impressive run thus far, capable of opening big leads and turning up the tempo when they want but they better not sleep on West Virginia or the Mountaineers physical play will knock them out.
