“Swiss Las Vegas” Robbed by Group of Gunmen

As many as ten men wearing masks smashed their way into Switzerland’s Grand Casino, fired several shots, and hit and kicked several guests before making off with several hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The gunman pulled up to the Grand Casino, dubbed the “Swiss Las Vegas,” in two cars and then used sledgehammers to pound their way through the doors before ordering the nearly 600 guests and employees to the floor while they collected the money.

According to reports the gunmen, who all spoke French, were unable to get into the strong room at the casino and were forced to flee without taking the vault.

The Grand Casino is located in the border city of Basel and the bandits were said to have crossed into France after the robbery yet investigators have not been able to locate the men.
