Prosecutor Says T.I. Broke Gun Law Before

Rapper T.I. who currently faces federal weapons charges, has previously violated the law by possessing firearms and a silencer while a convicted felon, a federal prosecutor stated in a document on November 26, 2007.

 

The rapper was arrested on October 13, 2007 hours before he was set to perform at the BET

Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. T.I. was reported as allegedly trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers.

 

T.I. is charged with possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He was released on bond, but is currently under house arrest in Atlanta.

 

The U.S. Attorney's office stated that they plan to introduce evidence of three occasions when T.I. unlawfully possessed guns, ammunition and a silencer, "all after having been convicted of a felony offense."
