NBA Schedule Monday March 29: Dirk Nowitzki and Carmelo Anthony Face Off as Dallas Mavericks Host Denver Nuggets with Playoff Position at Stake

As the NBA nears the end of the regular season several teams remain in a desperate fight for playoff position and in the Western Conference the battle for the number two seed is as tight as ever with the Dallas Mavericks hold a ½ game lead over the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz and a 1 game lead over the Phoenix Suns. By the end of Monday night the Mavericks will either extend their lead over the Nuggets to 1 ½ games or find themselves ½ game behind.

Dirk Nowitzki has been the go-to guy for the Mavericks but he has an impressive supporting cast in Dallas while Carmelo Anthony has been the leader for Denver but the Nuggets have been struggling a bit as of late and Anthony will need more help from his teammates if they are to going to make noise in the playoffs.

While Dallas and Denver have drawn most of the attention the Utah Jazz remains a serious threat in the Western Conference and they’ll be taking on a New York Knicks squad that sits 20 games under .500. Utah would love to snag the number two seed in the playoffs and keep home court advantage for as long as possible.

In the Eastern Conference the Toronto Raptors are hanging on for their playoff lives as they have a ½ game lead over the Chicago Bulls for the eighth seed. The Raptors have lost three in a row and it doesn’t get any easier on Monday as they face a Charlotte Bobcats team that is still tying to improve its playoff standing.
