Oprah Winfrey Meets with Family of Abused Girl

Oprah Winfrey has met with the family of a girl who reported she had been abused while attending the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls located in South Africa.

According to reports published in People magazine, the father of the girl said Winfrey had invited the teenaged girl back to the school to complete her education and invited the family to a year-end party.

In all, six students accused a dormitory matron of assaulting them while they attended the school designed to present opportunities for disadvantaged girls.

The matron in question is scheduled to appear in court next month. She has maintained her innocence amidst the allegations.
