Vladimir Putin Calls Catching Those Responsible for Moscow Subway Bombings a “Matter of Honor”

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said that the capture of those responsible for Monday’s subway bombings in Moscow is a “matter of honor” and that once captured the masterminds should be dragged “from the sewer into the daylight.”

Two female suicide bombers targeted Moscow’s subway station during rush hour on Monday, killing at least 39 people and leaving several more injured. Authorities are said to be searching for three people who were spotted with the bombers just moments before the bombings at Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations.

Officials have already pointed the finger at militants from the North Caucasus and now the fear is that the bombings will start a new wave of attacks. Those fears are based on a promise made by Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov who vowed to bring war into Russian cities.
