Bensalem High School Student Impaled in Stomach

A 10th-grade student is in surgery after a stabbing incident at Bensalem High School in Pennsylvania that resulted in a lockdown that lasted two hours and 20 minutes.

The student emerged from a first-floor bathroom with a puncture wound from a pair of scissors that were impaled into the stomach.

The student, whose name was withheld, was taken to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital, where the surgery was administered.

As a result of the lockdown, the school canceled all after-school activities, and buses were delayed up to 30 minutes throughout the district.

Police were questioning several students in connection with the incident. There are conflicting reports over the gender of the student.

Bensalem is located 18 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
